To be frank, I hadn’t spent much time typing with the Jane/Jane CE. And that’s because I am quite a fussy person, when it comes to the typing feel of a board. In a way, I am quite particular about the bottoming feel/sound. The Jane is just not as good even with a few of the screws removed from the plate. My guess is because of the plate and the weight. The plate was based on the Duck Orion. The quantity was too little back then, I wasn’t so keen on increasing price in order to have the weight made like the one with 910.
To those who don’t know what 910 is, here are some photos from Ferdi, 910 R1. I’ve been using the same board for just over a month now. Which is rare in my case because I normally switch my daily driver every few days. I know I’d mentioned that there won’t be another round for 910. But with all the jigs already made from the last round, I am hoping to make a little profit with this CE round. Especially after forking out much to fix/remake all the sub par boards from the first round.

Weight
I had some hard time deciding if I should keep the same weight design as the R1 910. The weight of the R1 910 was machined from a 18mm thick brass block, with the tolerance of only 0.2mm, it’s certainly not an easy process. Using a 2.5mm or 6mm flat weight like the Jane will make the process a whole lot easier, but will need to compromise typing fee. And also the cost. It’s not an easy decision to make, really. Nevertheless, the weight of the CE will the same as R1
Bottom

The bottom case is probably the only major difference between the R1 and CE
Color, Delivery, Switch Plate, Price, Quantity
I would still very much like to complete the whole GB within 8-10 weeks time. Yes, the community is being very understanding with delays, but it’s still some level of stress for me to bear. I would like to keep the choices color limited for this round, gray and black, perhaps silver too.
To keep things simple, brass will be the only switch plate option. I am hoping to get at least 20 orders. 20-30 boards are the sweet spot for me to complete within 8-10 weeks time. Price should be around $300 like the R1.
