Logo will be repositioned
Hello peeps, it has been more than a year since Jane CE. Many things happened during this period of time. ivan went missing, juahenza rised as the pride of Asia, Trump became POTUS, still no re-run of digilog (maybe I should try that someday). All these aside, I hope you guys are well.
About TGR 65% aka 910
65% is probably the best layout, be it for Overwatcher or casual type. There was a period of time when I used only the HHKB. LZ-SQ is the one that pulled me back from the dark side. TGR-910 is designed to provide the best typing feeling in a compact layout, while maintaining a effective number of keys. The design (?) is highly influenced from the older Korean customs.
Design
Unlike latest trends in keyboard hobby, there is nothing fancy or loud in the TGR design. The classy design concept is continued from the Jane. I had thought about adopting the “top casing over the bottom of the case” feature which can easily resolve the issue about top-bottom gap, sharp edges, and uneven anodizing issue; but that seemed to make the board look less elegant. In my opinion, the old way is the best way.

Supported layouts:

Material
Alcoa Mic 6 or Kobelco 5052
Reason behind the new material is consistency in quality of the aluminium and to avoid impurities.
In order to minimize the gap between the top and bottom parts, the edges have to be sharp. Strong sandblasting will introduce a small radius to the edges and make the gap obvious. I will be using a milder sandblasting with chemical etching technique to minimise the case gap. This technique requires extra effort for perfect machining/handling and prevention of oxidation during pre-anodising process etc.
The finishing that I am trying to achieve for the TGR-910 will be a lot like Lynn’s older boards (ie Dolphin, Whale, and EM7). The quality of the finishing depends a lot of the quality of the raw material, this new material will be the best for the kind of finishing that satisfy my strict requirement.
PCB
I have gotten the permission from Winkeyless’ Hojin to design my own PCB with their firmware and GUI. With the help of Leeku and Quadcube, a PCB was specially designed for 910.
Color

  • Black, silver and grey
  • Pink or Cyan (?)

Price
300$ to 350$
Potato

  • There’s a small piece of diffuser underneath the logo. Had it tested, I am still not blind.
  • Will use a less thick diffuser (1.5mm perhaps)
  • The board looks so much more classy without the side diffuser

All the failed prototypes
More

There are more. 12 units iinm. I will need to fix them and sell to cover back the cost sigh
