I am delighted to annouce the interest check for my third
keyboard project, the CLS-3//88. The previous offerings
(CLS-1//87 and CLS-2//65 -
https://ori-club.com/collections/ori-classic-series) brought me absolute joy and also a fair share of
headache, but Ive always been priviledged with support from
the community, and from friends who help me realize my
vision.
The CLS-3//88 is the culmination of everything
that Ive learned so far (achievements and stumbles alike),
so there will be signigicant changes in design and also in
the way that the product is offered to the public, with the
one and only aim of bringing the best experience possible.
As always, I am excited to gather invaluable feedback that
will guide me in refining the board in the coming months
before the official launch.
DESIGN INSPIRATION
After CLS-2//65, Ive been
contemplating ways to add some extra fanciness to my
following product lineup, without sacrificing the elements
of elegance and balance that are consistently instilled in
my designs. The name of the game is how to harmonize the
newly introduced curves with the stable imagery of the Ori
bird flying towards the Sun (but not too close lol), and
make the whole execution effortless.
Effortlessness and
simplicity

TECHNICAL CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Mounting and typing
feel: I have adjusted the connection positions between the
plate and the mount to reduce stiffness in some
places. However, as soon as new prototypes are reevaluated.
I’ll tune in one more time.
Sound: A realistic sound,
reflected by a brass
Board assembly: My goal this time
is with the assembly method where you will assemble the
daughter board in the final stages. The aim is that the pcb
will no longer be pinched by wires - affecting the feel of
typing.
Packaging: Custom box - In the process of
designing and testing
SALE INFO
For the first time
ever and likely moving forward, Ori products will be offered
through in-stock raffles. While doing traditional group buys
makes things a lot simpler in terms of mobilization and
logistics, it also puts a considerable amount of pressure on
fulfillment, which in certain cases during my previous runs,
affected my ability to meet expectations.
Keeping
things in-stock, while having a huge financial strain on
,
allows me to work at my own pace, and most importantly,
mitigates risks to my side instead of my customers.
PROGRESS
UPDATE
The first unanodized prototype is already here,
