Demiurge

Updates

  • 9.1.2022:
After extensive testing and feedback gathered from the members of the Finnish mech community (Thank you so much everyone! <3), I decided to revise a lot of the design.
I was not fully satisfied with the mounting method of the v1 prototype, so I decided to go back to the original idea of the board; PCB gasket or plate top mount, pick your poison.
I also decided to reduce the gap between the macro columns and the main cluster to .25u from the .5u it was previously, this also means ditching the indicator LEDs in the blocker (there’s still an option for an in switch indicator LED for caps lock).
Next up, the PCB: as many of you know, microchip availability and pricing has been really hit an miss recently, and although it’s getting better, I decided to play it safe and migrate the PCB to an RP2040 based design for better pricing and more stable availability. (Alps support also added after viewing IC feedback. ISO on a separate plate and PCB.)
Lastly, the weight, I heard you, the logo was not a good choice. Weight engraving has been changed to a text one, featuring the boards name. (see render.)

    -10.31.2022:
V2 Prototype received and built. Overall I’m very pleased with the revised design. It’s quite a loud board with the PC plate and TTC Wilds, but the sound profile and typing feel are very pleasant in both gasket and top mount configs. I need to get some different plates in to test, but I don’t think this will require another redesign lol.
