GB Thread is now live!
Hi, I’m persocom. Here is a keyboard.

HISTORY
I started on this a
full year ago and posted the initial prototypes on Reddit in
January.
(this post)
This was originally made to be a one off for myself
since it was the perfect layout for me to use at work.
I
had some interest from a handful of people that saw it so I
was going to run it privately at first. After ordering 3
different prototypes during Q1 of 2020,
I decided to
not risk handling any kind of group buy on my own and let
someone with more experience and resources take it over for
me.
Cannon Keys expressed support for the project
shortly after I shared the original photos, and I have been
working closely with them since May to make this a public
group buy.
In regards to the name:
There really isn’t much of a grand meaning or
reasoning here. I grew up watching anime in the late 90s -
early 2000s.
There was an abundance of soft colors,
fine lines, and crescent moon/night sky imagery that gives
me heaps of nostalgia when looking back at it.
The name
“Tsukuyomi” exists in different contexts between media and
religion, but the name of the board was pulled directly from
the manga Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase.
It was the first
thought in my head. That’s it.
SPECS
7 degree typing angle
~19mm front height
Top-mounted
plate (includes o-rings for optional burger mounting)
Choice
of WK and WKL top pieces
Internally mounted

Other CannonKeys releases are probably a good
reference for Lilac and Navy.
Please see the Google Form above for more information
about color options.

PROTOTYPES
The 4th and
final run of prototypes are functional with only a few
adjustments needed:
- The blockers are a tad bit aggressive. I widened them thinking that smaller gaps would be cleaner, but the spacing inconsistencies bug me, and the reduced space could cause clearance problems for keycaps that might have a larger footprint than GMK. I already know what size I need them to be so this is an easy fix.
- I want to give the burger mount cutouts a little more room for the o rings to compress. I’ll post some pictures of those cutouts as they are soon, so people who are unfamiliar with burger mount can get an idea. Currently they don’t have much space to compress so you can’t really “tune” them as much as you should be able to.
-
USB hole -
It turns out the USB hole was not the problem! The
proto PCB port was hand soldered, and I was able to
straighten it out. I’ll post an updated picture when I
get a chance.
Note: These will be hex screws in the production run.
Here’s a quick sound test I recorded to hold people over until we get a better one:
Lubed H1s
Aluminum half plate (files available after
GB)
No sound dampening
Typing test with various
keycap profiles by Minterly

SPECIAL THANKS
Upas for supporting the project, designing the final
PCB, and making it possible for me to get this out to
public.
Drew Rios for designing the weight engraving
and other emblems/branding.
snurrebassen for input and
helping me out with renders while I was still getting
prototypes made.
Kilgarah for tons of design chat and
designing the original prototype PCBs and FR4 plates.
Everyone
in the Tsukuyomi private GB server for being into this
enough to convince me to run it.
