Hello all,
I’m zekkin – I’ve been around for, wow,
about six years now, with only the last two being spent
diving into keyboard design. Until now I’ve mostly kept to
posting my work on the MechKeys Discord server (pretty much
exclusively in /#kb-kustoms), my
Instagram, and in various smaller Discord servers amongst close
friends. I have a few keyboards that are in the wild, none
being from a public group buy, at least in the sense that it
was posted here, on Geekhack.
During those two years I
only ever designed things with sandwich or top mount and
wanted to try something different. I was not too pleased
with the general public’s aversion to reveal the “secrets”
of the fabled OTD 356mini (despite there being very high
resolution images of the board available), so I decided to
make something that should, in theory, replicate the
mounting style, but mixed with my own aesthetic flavor.
Anyway,
here’s Ogre.

The link
to the raffle form will be posted in the first post of the
GB thread just a few minutes prior to opening and will close
immediately after the 5 minutes have lapsed; the same
process will repeat for the evening window.

Layout and Color Choices:
You will be
able to choose from Red, Dark Gray, Black, or Silver
anodizing colors. There is only one top piece available –
there is no WKL or HHKB available in this group buy.
Entry Process:
Everyone will be permitted to enter in the raffle
once – please choose one entry window. Due to the potential
for multiple entries, I will be going through them with a
focus on weeding them out. Discovery will result in
disqualification from this and future zekk.works group
buys.
Your desired configuration (color, plate choice,
etc.) will be determined from the choices you make in the
entry form, so please make your choices carefully.
During
entry, please use the email you use most for
communications.
Raffle Results:
The 35 raffle winners will be chosen on the morning
(Eastern US time) of July 5, 2020 and winners will be
notified shortly after. Notification of winning the raffle
will come in the form of an email from
support@zekk.works
as well as an invoice from my Shopify storefront.
Notification of not securing a spot in this GB will be sent
from
support@zekk.works.
Completion of the raffle will also be noted in the
Geekhack group buy thread.
Order Changes and Payment:
You will have 48 hours from the time of invoice
receipt to make appropriate changes and pay for your slot.
If, after 48 hours, an invoice remains unpaid, the slot will
be re-raffled and allocated to a new winner/*. This new
winner will have the full 48 hours to make any changes and
pay for their slot. Should there be a second instance of
non-payment, the slot will not be re-raffled but held by me
to sell after GB units have been fulfilled.
As a very
serious reminder,
PayPal will not be accepted as a valid form of
payment.
All order changes or inquiries must be sent to

Q&A
Q: Will you
change something small to fit my niche needs?
A:
Never.
Q: Will you offer something
custom like a color or layout?
A: No.
What you see is what you get.
Q: Will
you consider increasing the quantity?
A:
Nope. I’m one person with a full time job. It’s like you
people really want to end up in a
perpetual group buy with no delivered product.
Q:
Will there be extra keyboard kits?
A:
Nope.
Q: Why do you limit extra
add-ons?
A: It will make things easier
for me in the long run if I can keep the packing process as
streamlined as possible.
Questions answered or tangentially addressed in this
Q&A will not be answered or commented on in this
thread.
Thanks for checking this out, I’m looking forward to both
your interest and criticism. Hopefully I can bring you guys
a nice keyboard.
Feel free to post any questions here
or send them to me on Discord (zekkin/#0001) and I’ll
answer you as best I can as soon as possible.
