I created this solder holder, it was modeled around a .45kg
(1lb) standard roll of Kester solder, the dimensions if you
would like to check your rolls of solder are as listed.
Inner shaft diameter = 18.20 mm (0.717 inches)2.47 inches)
Inner Diameter = 62.80 mm (
Depth = 57.00 mm (~2.44 inches)
After
14 iterations of working out wall thickness and tolerances I
finally completed this 3d printing project. The container
holds my Kester solder rolls, and its purpose is a few
things, Keeping the solder in this container prevents the
spool from unwinding, keeps my hands off the solder when I
am just moving it around, and makes it look better, there is
a slot that will let you pull solder off the roll and when
you are done you can remove the magnetic lid and wind the
excess back around the roll without touching it. I
personally like it a lot and would like to know if I should
produce them for sale at my website
www.keycapt.com
They take 4.5 hours to print and I would try to keep
the price around 30 dollars shipped CONUS, I have not
checked shipping rates at all yet, but would hope to be able
to ship world wide. Please let me know if you are
interested.
Feel free to let me know if this is stupid
or cool.
