Good day fellow enthusiasts
I’ve spent years in this hobby trying to perfect my crafting of bespoke input devices. Combining the knowledge I’ve absorbed through lurking pools of wisdom like /#kb-kustoms I feel like I have finally reached absolute summit game. I’d love to present you the pinnacle of custom mechanical keyboards: ‘tISOstupid.

Layout
We have long come to the conclusion that the superior key in keyboards is the ISO enter. Users like Blacksimon and Pwner have gone on daring expeditions trying to extract the purest ISO juice out of this marvellous key. Building upon their great research I realised that the key was to arrange said keys in their natural shape. This strongly magnifies the magical powers these little bricks of plastic posses. Running 1 click simulations in Fusion we estimate by up to 96.9999 fold (please note hitting 97 kind of power is not yet possible as it requires the cost of our own humanity and emotions).
Mounting
‘tISOstupid will use a whole new type of mounting we named mattress mount. Each key has an individual plate. The plate holding the switch is pressed into an upper plate by 4 individual springs with a gasket in-between the top and middle plate. Using 4 springs on each plate makes for a sort of “switch within a switch”. The total sandwhich would be upper plate - gasket - mounting plate - springs - bottom. Users can also switch out these springs to adjust the typing experience to their needs. To keep all these plates separate each switch will also have it’s own PCB connected with short JST cables in-between. This way the typing experience on each of your ISO enters will be identical with no issues like a flexier plate in the middle.
FAQ
Will you actually make this?

This seems kinda useless?

Won’t this be insanely expensive to manufacture?

Won’t this probably sound awful from all the metal on metal contact in the mounting system?

This is so stupid
