TMOv2 INTEREST CHECK

Hi everyone!
It’s been bit over a year since TMO50 group buy happened. Ever since that time I’ve been thinking about running it again. I couldn’t but I really wanted to.
People have asked me privately and publicly about if and when R2 would be happening and the only real answer was that something WILL happen! So here it is!
TMOv2
Design choices
Year in our community is a long time in terms of design trends. Mounting types, material options for cases and plates, colourways, switches, even layouts.
TMOv2 was inspired by both older boards and newer trends alike to accompany the current design language yet still paying homage to those keyboards that started it all.
Keeping the same signature layout, thin bezels and front lip from TMO50 was a priority since the start.

Features

  • 100% base kit compatible (/*)

  • QMK compatible USB-C PCB, designed by Upas

  • 22(!) underglow RGB LEDs

  • Top mount construction

  • 7 degree typing angle

  • Brass weight
( /*) - Most GMK and EPBT keyset base kits

  • Layout & key mapping*
Thinking about TMO50s huge cutout in the middle row, we knew there must be a better way. Looking over the idea that TMO50 is a “base kit compatible” sub60% I must admit it was only 96% true.
Either you go with off-stagger and have two 1.5u mods in the middle that aren’t the correct profile or you go with regular stagger and still have a 1.25u mod that’s not the right profile.
By making TMOv2 layout only 0.5u wider it becomes a 100% “base kit compatible” sub60% with regular stagger and correct profile keycaps on all 50 keys!

TMO is all about YOU making it your own. From keysets to artisans to keymapping. With QMK you’re encouraged to make TMOv2 fit your typing style. Stock keymapping is only there to be a sane “default” and it’s the one I’ve been using daily.
