Hi there,
Here is my interest check for the Kotai case
Preonic edition. This time around I also decided on posting
an interest check on Geekhack opposed to only on reddit so
forgive me if I miss out on something since this is my first
Geekhack post.
The name Kotai (or 固体) translates to
the word solid which was the design philosophy I was going
for, a firm, stable and above all thick case. After taking
in most of everyones feedback, finding an amazing
manufacturer in the scene and speaking with Jack Humbert
this is the proposed feature list:
Case features:
Solid and seamless design made with simplicity in
mind
4mm thick CNC milled seamless top part with
integrated switch plate
4mm thick bottom plate with
mounting holes that correspond to the Preonic metal
standoffs.
Switch cutouts at 1,5mm to allow the
switches to clip the top part.
6061 anodized aluminium
and optional brass bottom
Compatible with the Rev 3
Preonic pcb
Supports full grid and 1x 2u layout.
Manufactured by the talented u/Salvun!
Options:
Top: Black, Dark blue, Cerakote white (MOQ 10)
Bottom: Clearcoat silver and brass
Preonic rev 3 pcb:
Pcbs will be available from the OLKB website as a separate
GB.
Renders:
Price:
A standard Kotai case
Preonic edition existing out of a top part, bottom part, a
set of fitting screws and rubber bump-ons will cost 180,-
Excluding shipping and Paypal fees. MOQ is 25 like last time
and the price will drop to 170 if we reach 75 orders :)
Extra
top: 120,-
Extra bottom: 60,-
Upgrade to brass
bottom: +15,-
Cerakote white top: +25,-
Shipping:
Shipping cost will be added to your invoice once
youve made your order. These are flat rate shipping
costs.
Europe = 16,-
Outside of Europe = 26,-
Estimated timeline:
Group Buy: Beginning of October 2019
Fulfillment:
4 months after GB payment collection (just a rough
estimate)
Shipping: Via Myparcel or DHL. I check all
the orders before shipping on possible damage or
malfunctions so I will not be held accountable for things
that happen during shipment.
Thanks to the wonderfull
people in the community for all the support and feedback in
the past period and a special thanks to:
u/Jackhumbert
for helping out with pcb availability
u/Salvun for
being the manufacturer
u/Janglad and u/Abec13 for the
