Hello fellow clackers! My name is Wilhelm, I am an
austrian graphic designer and I fell into the mechanical
keyboard rabbit hole some years ago. I was always searching
for the perfect keycaps and while some of the sets are great
nothing fitted my taste perfectly. So here we are, this is
my approach.
Vektor combines some of my passions:
sci-fi, cyberpunk and typography. The general idea is to
reduce as much from the individual letters while still
maintain a decent readability.

Thank you all
for filling out the poll. Prefered profile is DSA so far,
with SA closely behind. The colorway was a tie between hack
and idoru, so I figured I give it a try to combine the
two.

I posted an earlier Version on Reddit a while back,
and it got good feedback, so I figured I will start an IC
over here. One of the complaints of the initial design was
the color scheme, so I worked out some possible colors
schemes

From a production standpoint I am pretty much at the
start - while I initially thought that reverse dyesubbed DSA
will be my only possibility I am considering SA uniform R3
doubleshots. Needless to say that this would only work if
the interest is high enough - it would mean that every
letter needs a newly produced mold.
I will probably try
to keep the set rather limited - the advantage of the
abstract modifiers is that they can be used in different
ways. My idea would be to produce a base set that covers a
standard keyboards plus some extra caps for orthos and other
aliens.
The design itself also will require some
iterations, I want to make the set as cohesive as possible
and there are still some minor aspect to smooth out.
Anyway,
let me hear your thoughts - looking forward for your
input!
Wilhelm
